New Incoming Inspection Standard for Connector Injection Moulded Components

We rolled out standardized incoming inspection rules for plastic injection molded parts for our circular connector products. This specification covers connector insulators, housing assemblies, module brackets and guide sleeves — these plastic components are essential for our D38999 series connectors.
Document KW-QI-003, Version V1.0 lists out 15 inspection points, sorted into Class A and Class B standards. Class A covers critical features, every single piece must be checked. If any defective units turn up in Class A tests, we reject the whole batch. Items here include shrink marks, flash, burn spots, incomplete filling, core dimension tolerances, insulation resistance and DWV dielectric voltage withstand tests.
Our QA team runs visual checks and hand-feel tests. They measure parts with calipers, profile projectors and GO/NO-GO gauges. One simple rule: functional surfaces cannot have shrink marks at all. Melt marks are not allowed on high-load areas like contact slots and locking structures.
Performance tests are a key part of our incoming quality check. Insulation resistance needs to hit at least 5000MΩ at 500VDC. For DWV testing, we apply 1500VRMS over 60 seconds. Leakage current must stay under 1mA and no breakdown can occur. The heat resistance test runs at 125°C for 4 hours. Inspectors watch for deformation, discoloration or cracking after exposure.
Class B items are important characteristics, sampled following GB/T 2828.1 with AQL 4.0. This group checks scratches, air bubbles and flatness.
