GJB599I circular connectors match the MIL-DTL-38999I specs, and lots of hardware designers rely on them for tough electronic interconnection jobs. This product line uses bayonet-style quick locking. Small and light, it still offers high contact density within limited space.
It comes with built-in EMI and RFI shielding to cut electromagnetic noise. Contacts are crimp-on and removable, plus an anti-misplug structure to stop mismating errors. Receptacles have multiple mounting choices: box, wall, front, rear and nut-fixed types. The unit holds up when facing strong vibration.
The series works with GJB1784 standard backshell accessories. Ti-Ni memory alloy rings help firmly grip shielded cables. Buyers can pick from 9 shell sizes and 74 standard pin layouts, with many modified hole arrangements available. Seals on the mating interface and rear side keep moisture and dust out. Five keyway options prevent incorrect connector pairing.
Shell material options are aluminum alloy or stainless steel. Surface treatments include B-class cadmium plating, E-class stainless steel passivation and F-class electroless nickel. Thermoset plastic forms the insulator. Silicone rubber makes up the sealing sleeves and gaskets. Gold-plated copper alloy contacts are offered in crimp, solder and PCB mount versions.
The connector can go through 500 mating cycles in service. It withstands sine vibration between 10–2000Hz at 294m/s² acceleration, and random vibration from 100–1000Hz with 1g²/Hz power spectral density. It also survives 3ms half-sine shock, with peak acceleration hitting 300g.
This connector handles signal circuits in rough working environments, such as intense vibration, wind-blown sand and high humidity. It finds broad use on aerospace hardware and other demanding electronic systems.
